How to Rent a Yacht in Dubai: A Step-by-Step Guide

Dubai Marina towers and moored yachts

Renting a yacht in Dubai takes a few messages, not a licence. A step-by-step guide from choosing the boat to stepping on board.

Renting a private yacht in Dubai is simpler than most first-time guests expect. You do not need a boating licence or any experience: every charter comes with a captain and crew. What you do need is a date, a headcount and a rough idea of what you want from the trip.

1. Count your guests first

The guest list decides the yacht. Every yacht has a fixed capacity, and everyone on board counts towards it, including children and infants. As a rule of thumb, a 44 to 48 ft yacht suits up to 12 guests, a 50 to 55 ft yacht suits 15 to 20, and larger groups need 56 ft or more.

2. Decide how long you want to be out

The minimum charter is two hours, which is enough for a cruise past the Marina, Ain Dubai and Palm Jumeirah. Three hours adds Burj Al Arab. Four hours leaves time to anchor for a swim or a meal on board.

3. Pick the time of day

  • Morning: the calmest sea and the easiest slot to book
  • Afternoon: best for swimming and watersports
  • Sunset: the most requested slot, so book it early
  • Evening: the skyline lit up and cooler air on deck

4. Compare the hourly prices

Prices are per hour for the whole yacht, not per person. Our fleet starts at AED 600 per hour, and the rate covers the yacht, the captain and crew, fuel for the standard route, water, soft drinks and ice. You can compare every yacht on the Yacht Rental Dubai page.

5. Send your request

Send the date, the start time, the number of hours and the number of guests through the booking form or on WhatsApp. We confirm availability, the total price and the payment terms in writing. Mention extras such as catering, decoration or a jet ski at this stage, so they are ready when you arrive.

6. Get ready for the day

  • Bring an original passport or Emirates ID for every guest
  • Arrive at the berth 15 minutes before your start time, because the booking starts at the agreed hour
  • Wear soft-soled shoes and bring swimwear if you plan to swim
  • Tell the captain what matters most to you: photos, a swim stop or simply a quiet cruise

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Booking a yacht that is too small: the capacity cannot be exceeded on the day
  • Leaving sunset slots to the last minute between October and April
  • Forgetting the IDs, which can delay the departure for the whole group

Once you are on board, the crew handles the rest. All you have to do is enjoy the view.
